Public comment: None.
Executive session: At 9 a.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) with Chief Civil DPA David Bailey until 9:15 a.m. to discuss
two topics:
• Lewis County Historical Society
• Lewis County Investment Pool
Attendees also included Ryan Barrett and Becky Butler.
At 9:15 a.m., Commissioner Pollock extended executive session until 9:20 a.m.
Executive session ended at 9:20 a.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made.
2026 budget amendment: Becky Butler reviewed the budget amendment on the agenda for the June 9
Business Meeting. Becky said District Court has seen a large increase in public defender costs.
2027 budget planning / call letter: Becky outlined decisions needed for the upcoming call letter, such as
allowable increases, as well as unknowns, such as jail medical, public defense and expiring contracts.
The commissioners said they will further discuss the topic June 10.
Lodging Tax Advisory Committee vacancy: The commissioners directed staff to advertise the position.
Minute folders: Commissioner Brummer made a motion to approve the minute folder for the week of
May 18. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Correspondence: The commissioners discussed correspondence received regarding the Timberland
Regional Library.
Announcements / new business / calendars: The commissioners said they will retain the Aug. 12
Directors’ Update as scheduled.
