Subject: Salary Adjustment Recommendation for Shelly Stewart
I am respectfully requesting consideration and approval of a salary adjustment for Shelly Stewart
in recognition of her continued dedication, institutional knowledge, expanded responsibilities,
and overall value to the operations of the Lewis County Treasurer’s Office.
We are making this request to better align with similar positions in Lewis County offices that
have made and were granted this request.
Shelly has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism, reliability, and
commitment in carrying out her duties within the Treasurer’s Office. Over time, her role and
responsibilities have continued to expand beyond the original scope of her position, and she has
repeatedly shown the ability to manage those additional responsibilities efficiently and
effectively.
In addition to her daily duties, Shelly serves as a dependable resource for other staff members
and provides valuable operational continuity within the office. Her experience and knowledge of
county procedures, financial processes, and internal operations have become increasingly
important to maintaining the efficiency and stability of the Treasurer’s Office.
The requested salary adjustment is intended to recognize:
• Increased job responsibilities and workload;
• Demonstrated leadership and dependability;
• Institutional knowledge and experience;
• Ongoing commitment to customer service and public accountability;
• The importance of retaining experienced and qualified personnel.
The Treasurer’s Office continues to face increasing operational demands, regulatory
requirements, and public service expectations. Retaining experienced employees who possess the
knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform these functions is essential to maintaining
the high level of service expected by the citizens of Lewis County.
We are requesting an increase from Grade 126 step 12 to a grade 127 step 12. The net annual
increase is projected to be $6,339.00
For these reasons, I respectfully request the Board’s consideration and approval of an appropriate
salary increase for Shelly Stewart.
