Extending deadline to petition to the Lewis County Board of Equalization BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEWIS COUNTY WASHINGTON Extend the deadline to petition to the ) Lewis County Board of Equalization(BOE) ) for a change in the assessed valuation placed ) Resolution No. 15- upon such property by the County Assessor ) WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 84.40.038 (1), the owner or person responsible for payment of taxes on any property may petition the BOE for a change in the assessed valuation placed upon such property by the county assessor; and WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 84.40.038 (1), the petition must be filed with the BOE on or before July 1St of the year of the assessment or determination or within a time limit of up to sixty days adopted by the county legislative authority, whichever is later; and WHEREAS, the current deadline to petition the BOE for a change in the assessed valuation placed on property is thirty-days after the date an assessment, value change notice, or other notice has been mailed; and WHEREAS,the Board wishes to extend the deadline to petition to the BOE for a changed in assessed valuation placed on property within the confines of RCW 84.40.038 (1). NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners the owner or person responsible for payment of taxes on any property may petition the Lewis County Board of Equalization for a change in the assessed valuation placed upon such property by the County Assessor. Such petition may be filed with the Board of Equalization on or before July 1 of the year of assessment or within sixty days after the date an assessment, value change notice, or other notice has been mailed, whichever is later.
