WHEREAS, Stover Road, southwest of Packwood would benefit from a turnaround; and
WHEREAS, the turnaround will require additional road right of way from one adjacent property
owner; and
WHEREAS, this turnaround is a necessary road improvement and will benefit the public; and
WHEREAS, RCW 8.08.010 authorizes counties to acquire property when deemed necessary by
the Board of County Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of RCW 8.08, this resolution instructs the County
Engineer to acquire right of way as shown on the attached Exhibit from one property owner along Stover
Road for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Road Engineer is instructed to acquire all
necessary right of way and is authorized to sign documents necessary for the turnaround project on Stover
Road in Section 12, Township 12 North, Range 8 East, W.M., and directs that all such acquisitions be in
accordance with adopted procedure as per Resolution 14-160 and under its eminent domain authority, as
per RCW 8.25 and WAC 458-61A-206 (1c), and pursuant to authority and obligations of RCW Title 8,
notably 8.08, 8.25 and 8.26.

Description
Stover Road, southwest of Packwood would benefit from a turnaound. The project will require additional right
of way from one property owner. RCW Chapter 8 authorizes counties to acquire property when deemed
necessary by the Board of County Commissioners. Pursuant to requirements included in RCW Chapter 8, this
resolution instructs the County Engineer to acquire right of way from one property owner along Stover Road for
the turnaround. All such acquisition shall be in accordance with adopted procedures per Resolution 14-160.
