Approving Employment Agreement with Matthew Trent, IT Network Specialized Services BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON RE: RESOLUTION APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN ) LEWIS COUNTY AND MATTHEW TRENT ) FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ) RESOLUTION NO. 18- �b NETWORK SPECIALIZED SERVICES ) WHEREAS, the Information Technology Services Department provides technological support services to the offices and departments within Lewis County; and WHEREAS, from time to time, Information Technology Services may require specialized services with particularly unique systems such as the Spillman network; and WHEREAS, a former employee, Matthew Trent, is qualified to perform such duties, and desires to assist Lewis County Technology Services with an employment relationship and has entered into agreement to perform casual work for Lewis County and provide such service; and WHEREAS, the Lewis County Salary Grid places all casual employees in one salary classification, and at times, will require pay above the casual classification scale; and WHEREAS, Mr. Trent shall be a casual non-exempt Lewis County employee and paid above the casual classification scale at the rate of$100.00 per hour, billing in fifteen minute intervals, and shall be subject to all applicable deductions, including but not limited to employment and payroll taxes; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public interest to have Mr. Trent perform these specialized services; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners approve the casual employment of Matthew Trent for specialized services. The Director is requesting to hire a casual employee at the rate of$100.00 per hour, which shall be billed in (15) minute intervals. The hiring of this casual position eliminates the need and excessive cost of Lewis County entering into a contract with an outside vendor.
