Approve Additional $50 for the Lewis County Animal Shelter petty cash fund BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN RE: Approve additional $50 for the Lewis County Animal Shelter petty cash fund ) Resolution No. 18- aq$ WHEREAS, the Lewis County Public Health & Social Services Department, Animal Shelter Division, is requesting an additional $50 from Fund 001 for petty cash for the Animal Shelter; AND WHEREAS, this is in addition to the $150 petty cash the Animal Shelter now has on hand to be used to provide change which is not enough for three tills and to make additional change; AND WHEREAS, all three tills need to start the day with $50 each so they can make change for customers and keep $50 on hand in the vault to make occasional change for larger bills as needed as the Animal Shelter is not close enough to go to the bank to get change in a timely manner; AND WHEREAS, the custodian of the account shall be the Lewis County Public Health & Social Services Director or her/his designee; AND WHEREAS, all efforts are being made to comply with the State Auditors recommendations for cash control; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) authorizes Public Health & Social Services Department to increase petty cash fund by $50 (fifty dollars) to the Animal Shelter Division, Fund 001; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Lewis County Public Health & Social Services directs the Treasurer's and Auditor's Offices to perform the appropriate accounting. With the new Munis program, each tech needs her own till which means there will be three tills that will each need $50 to begin the day. Also, since the Animal Shelter is not near a bank, they will keep $50 cash in the vault in case they need to make change for large bills. This will provide enough cash on hand to deal with the daily transactions.
