Stormwater NPDES State Waste Discharge Permit for the }
North Fork Road Realignment Project }
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Transportation Improvement Plan includes the North Fork
Road Realignment Project, and
WHEREAS, Lewis County is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of
Ecology's Construction Stormwater NPDES State Waste Discharge Permit, and
WHEREAS, Lewis County will accept written comments in order to consider and evaluate
whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners desires to
issue a public notice the North Fork Road Realignment Project requires coverage under the
Washington State Department of Ecology's Construction Stormwater NPDES State Waste
Discharge Permit

98532-2308, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology's
Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit
The proposed project, North Fork Road Realignment, is located along North Fork Road from MP
2 70 to 4 05, near Chehalis, in Lewis County This project involves 11 acres of soil disturbance
for roadway construction activities
Some discharges and runoff goes to groundwater The receiving water bodies are the North
Fork Newaukum River, the unnamed Tributary to North Fork Newaukum River 1, and the
unnamed tributary to North Fork Newaukum River 2
Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology
regarding this application, or interested in Ecology's action on the application, may notify
Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice Ecology
reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a
measurable change in receiving water quality, and if so, whether the project is necessary and in
the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-
201 A-320
