TO THE LEWIS COUNTY )
WATER CONSERVANCY BOARD )
WHEREAS,the state Legislature in 1997 authorized counties to establish water conservancy
boards (RCW 90 80) to enable the processing of water-right transfer applications at the local
level with members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC); and
WHEREAS, Tom Crowson has stepped down, creating a vacancy on the Water Conservancy
Board, and
WHEREAS, Leland Rakoz of Winlock has expressed a desire to be appointed to the Water
Conservancy Board and has demonstrated he has the necessary experience and education to
fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Water Conservancy Board member, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest to appoint qualified members to the Water
Conservancy Board,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Leland Rakoz to the Lewis
County Water Conservancy Board to complete Tom Crowson's unexpired six-year term ending
August 1, 2023
