Commissioners (BOCC) signature thereon. )
WHEREAS, the United States Government (through the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot
National Forest) and Lewis County, propose to modify a Stewardship Agreement into which they
previously entered, through No 17-SA-11060300-020 Modification 3 (three), to address
management of noxious weeds, and
WHEREAS, the modification to the Stewardship Agreement provides for management of
noxious weeds on the Gifford Pinchot National by extending the performance period from December
31, 2019 to December 31, 2020 between Lewis County and the USDA Forest Service Gifford
Pinchot National Forest, and
WHEREAS, the BOCC has had an opportunity to review the Stewardship Agreement No 17
SA-11060300-020 Modification 3 (three) attached, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to approve and authorize this modification
to the Stewardship Agreement, with the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the BOCC of Lewis County hereby approves of
the terms and conditions of the attached Stewardship Agreement No No 17-SA-11060300 020
Modification 3 (three) between Lewis County and the USDA Forest Service Gifford Pinchot
National Forest, and hereby authorizes the Chair of the BOCC to sign the same on behalf of the
County

cooperation between the two agencies for noxious weed management The Modification changes the
performance period, and extends it from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2020 The purpose of the
original agreement is to document the cooperation between the parties to stop the spread of noxious weed
species, reduce existing populations and prevent the introduction of additional exotic plants throughout Lewis
County
