2019-01-02 Prosecutor UpdateProsecutor’s Update January 2, 2019 2 p.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Fund, Jonathan Meyer, Janelle Kambich, Wayne Whiton, Cullen Gatten, Sara Wibowo, Amber Caulfield, County Manager Erik Martin (2:09 p.m.) Guests: Dr. Lindsey Pollock, Alex Brown Recorder: Rieva Lester Jonathan Meyer said Family Support will be handled mainly by him. He said he has 2.5 employees working in the old historic courthouse. He said Family Support is paid through a contract with the state. He said he is going to submit a PAF for a senior paralegal. Jonathan said ITAs are busier than anticipated. Jonathan said filings were up for 2018, mostly because of cases linked to drugs. Becky Butler asked if the federal government’s shutdown will affect Family Support. Sara Wibowo said there is no effect now but that a multi-state email addressing it is expected within a week or so. Cullen Gatten discussed Fire District 17. He noted that Mike Leach was not a resident and was not registered to vote. He recommended the BOCC appoint one commissioner to Fire District 17. Erik Martin joined at 2:09 p.m. The commissioners asked Cullen to contact Phil Farcy by mail. Sara said she has tried to reach out to Harold Kuper regarding the Davis Lake Drainage District. Jonathan said the PFD is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 14. At 2:13 p.m., Commissioner Jackson announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 7 minutes to discuss pending and potential litigation. Executive Session ended at 2:20 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
