2019-01-16 Auditor Treasurer UpdateAuditor / Treasurer Update January 16, 2019 10:35 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Arny Davis, Larry Grove, Suzette Smith, Becky Butler, Rodney Reynolds, Commissioner Fund (11:07 a.m.) Guest: Linda Williams Recorder: Rieva Lester Rodney Reynolds reviewed the liquid deposit report, Lewis County investments and the county’s Investment Portfolio Summary. Rodney said the county has $34 million in long-term investments. Rodney said short-term investments are providing roughly the same types of returns as long-term investments right now. Rodney said he does not yet have a revenue update. Rodney left at 10:52 a.m. Suzette discussed expenditures. Suzette discussed an upcoming Health transfer. Becky noted that the Jail didn’t need the bulk of its recent transfer. Becky reminded the group that there will be a 2018 amendment at the end of the month. Becky left at 10:59 a.m. Suzette said she is concerned that the Treasurer’s Office hasn’t provided revenue information. She noted that the Auditor’s Office no longer does the BSRs for grants. Suzette noted that one attorney waited until the end of the year to bill for all of 2018 and that the amount billed totaled roughly $80,000. Commissioner Fund joined at 11:07 a.m. Suzette, Larry Grove and Arny left at 11:07 a.m. Commissioner Jackson left at 11:14 a.m. Commissioner Stamper and Commissioner Fund continued reviewing county revenues and expenditures.
