The group discussed a resolution regarding the cancellation of taxes.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to declare certain vehicles as surplus county property and provide
notice of the intent to sell. He said the Sheriff’s Office will sell three surplus items to raise funds to
purchase a new vehicle.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to establish gross tonnage limits on various bridges in
unincorporated Lewis County.
The group discussed a resolution to accept an amendment between the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office
and Naphcare Inc. for the addition of one FTE RN position.
Steve Wohld discussed a resolution to approve infrastructure access and support agreements between
Lewis County Information Technology Services Department and the emergency response services of
Centralia PD; Chehalis PD; Morton PD; Napavine PD; Toledo PD; Pe Ell PD; Winlock PD; Fire Districts 1, 2,
3, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 48; and the Riverside Fire Authority.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve a contract between Lewis County and the Community
Action Council of Lewis, Mason, & Thurston Counties.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve Amendment B to a contract between Lewis County and
the Human Response Network.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve Amendment A to a contract between Lewis County and
Reliable Enterprises.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve Amendment B to a contract between Lewis County and
the Housing Resource Center.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve Amendment B to a contract between Lewis County and
The Salvation Army.
Commissioner Jackson discussed a resolution to dissolve the petty cash fund established for the office of
the Board of County Commissioners and return the monies to the Lewis County Treasurer.
Lee Napier discussed a hearing for Ordinance 1297, which would revise Chapter 17.12, “Public
Participation Program,” of Lewis County Code.
Lee Napier discussed a public hearing to ratify Ordinance 1300, which renews the moratorium upon
certain building permits within the boundaries of Water-Sewer District #5. (Lewis County passed
Ordinance 1300 on Jan. 7, 2019.)
Becky Butler discussed a hearing for the 5th 2018 Budget Amendment for Current Expense and other
funds.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two consent items, 11 deliberation items and three
hearings to the Monday BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Roundtable
Steve Mansfield commended his staff’s response to a homicide the previous night.
Steve Walton gave an update on a recent rehire.
Becky reminded the group of the upcoming budget amendment. She urged the group to watch for any
impacts related to the federal government’s shutdown.
Wayne Whiton said the Risk Pool is hosting Management and Supervisory Training in Lewis County on
April 4-5.
Lara McRea thanked Facilities for its work on the BOCC remodel.
Steve Wohld discussed cybersecurity improvements.
Josh Metcalf discussed the application process for the vacant airport manager position. He said Public
Works also has five vacancies to fill.
Danette York said flu numbers are up in Lewis County. She said Lewis County has no measles cases yet.
She said the county has two tuberculosis cases. Danette said she is concerned there will be additional
latent TB cases. She said the two Homeless Connect events are planned for later in the week.
Lee Napier discussed the addition of an early warning system camera. She discussed the indemnification
process. Lee discussed a five-year review. She said there will be changes to the simple-seg code.
Erik Martin said budget worksheets are due in late February.
Commissioner Fund gave a brief update on the current legislative session.
