Wayne Whiton discussed a resolution to authorize legal defense and indemnity regarding Lewis County
Sheriff personnel and their marital community. The group discussed concerns regarding defense and
indemnity for marital spouses.
Commissioner Fund joined at 9:08 a.m.
Steve Wohld joined at 9:12 a.m.
Archie Smith discussed a resolution to set the wage for Armed Security Officer(s). He said Superior Court
is exploring grant funding.
Becky Butler discussed a hearing for a 2018 Budget Amendment for Current Expense and Other Funds.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two Consent items, two Deliberation items and one
Hearing to the Monday, March 4, 2019, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Fund seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Roundtable
Steve Walton discussed the Planned Annual Continuing Education (PACE) program for Munis users,
which includes 10 extra training days and three passes for Tyler Technology’s annual event. He said the
cost is $8,775 per year. He said the $53,000 amendment will include an additional year with the project
manager.
Eric Eisenberg joined at 9:27 a.m.
Eric explained community property laws and the reasons the county would cover the marital community
for good-faith actions the county employees took in their official capacities.
Danette York left at 9:31 a.m.
Eric noted that there would be no additional work for Lewis County to defend the marital community.
Eric left at 9:36 a.m.
Becky Butler said final 2018 numbers should be available in the next few weeks.
Matt Jaeger and Steve Wohld said IT is conducting an inventory study.
Lee Napier discussed Fred Evander’s upcoming departure and gave a recap regarding Community
Development’s recent process improvement meeting.
Erik Martin thanked the departments for their work on program lists.
Commissioner Fund commended the county’s efforts on the trail guide.
