Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to declare certain vehicles as surplus county property and notice of
intent to sell.
Steve Mansfield and Lara McRea joined at 9:02 a.m.
Danette York discussed approving W2RLSWFA Amendment #1 between Washington Department of
Ecology and Lewis County.
Commissioner Fund joined at 9:03 a.m.
Danette York discussed approving an agreement between Lewis County and the Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) to provide funds for the McKinney Transitional Housing Program in the
amount of $151,215.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two Consent items and three Deliberation items to the
Monday, March 18, 2019, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Fund seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Roundtable
Archie Smith gave an update on the new Paid Family Leave Act and potential changes to rules for salary
exempt employees. Archie said he also is updating the employee handbook. He said paid sick leave is
being updated.
Rieva Lester said bids for the newspaper of record will be opened March 18.
Becky Butler said 2018 is being wrapped up.
Steve Wohld said the county’s data usage. He said he may have to propose use-based fees for data to
offset costs. He discussed data-saving steps the county may be able to explore.
Wayne Whiton said Cullen Gatten and Casey Mauermann are holding PDR training later in the day. He
said the county’s PDR policy is being updated.
Graham Gowing said Community Development has an opening for an assistant planner.
Erik Martin discussed Community Development’s all-staff workshop planned for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March
19.
Commissioner Fund discussed Centralia’s streetscape plan as well as garbage clean-up efforts at area
homeless camps. The group discussed the housing crisis, mental health issues and drug problems.
Lara McRea said the BOCC office is changing the way it saves minutes.
Meeting ended at 9:39 a.m.
