2019-05-28 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up May 28, 2019 9:33 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, County Manager Erik Martin, Wayne Whiton, Becky Butler Guest: Alex Brown Recorder: Rieva Lester Erik Martin said the Onalaska Fire wants county-owned property that the fire department has used for training. Commissioner Stamper said he would reach out to Rich Bainbridge and ask that he meet with the BOCC to discuss his vision for the property. Becky Butler recapped discussion from the previous week about a potential mid-year adjustment to self- insurance rates. Erik said the amount of money going out of general liability appears to justify the need. Becky noted that the cost of administration has increased dramatically and has to be covered. The board agreed to make the mid-year adjustment to self-insurance rates. Rieva Lester said the BOCC has not yet received any applications for the Salary Commission. Commissioner Jackson said a recent email from the Treasurer’s Office does not answer the commissioners’ questions about the delay in reconciliation. The group discussed the possibility of setting up a follow-up meeting with Arny Davis. Erik noted that Arny has requested two meetings with him. Commissioner Stamper said he would reach out to Ted Jackson regarding clarification about Forest Service trails. He said he had meant to discuss the topic with Gar Abbas the previous week but that Gar was not available. The commissioners reviewed their calendars and signed a congratulatory letter to area fire districts that received state honors. The commissioners approved minutes for the week of May 6, 2019. Meeting ended at 10:12 a.m.
