2019-06-19 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update June 19, 2019 9:05 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, County Manager Erik Martin, Lee Napier, Steve Mansfield, Lara McRea, Mike Kroll, Steve Walton, Becky Butler, Daleyn Coleman, JP Anderson, Steve Wohld, Steve Whiton, Gary Fredricks Guest: Linda Williams Recorder: Rieva Lester Mike Kroll discussed a call for sealed bids for the Interstate Avenue Paving Project. He noted that it’s for a joint project with Chehalis and that Lewis County is the lead agency. JP Anderson discussed a resolution to approve an amendment to an agreement between Washington Initiative for Supported Employment and Lewis County. Mike Kroll discussed a resolution to approve a task assignment pursuant to Interlocal Agreement 05-200 between Lewis County and Tacoma Power regarding work by county crews and authorizing signatures thereon. Lee Napier said she would have to postpone the resolution to authorize the Director of Community Development to sign the Voluntary Stewardship Program contract. Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move one Notice item, two Consent items and two Deliberation items to the Monday, June 24, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. Motion passed 2-0. Steve Walton said the project to clean the courthouse exterior is underway. Becky Butler said internal service rates are due July 12. Steve Wohld requested offices and departments to alert him of any changes to technology needs as he prepares to set internal service rates. Wayne Whiton discussed Tawni Shepherd’s recent training. Gary Fredricks discussed the Farm Guide and encouraged the group to shop locally. Erik Martin said he is looking at changing the directors’ individual updates. Lee Napier said she will have a late agenda addition regarding West Consultants. Commissioner Stamper discussed the proposed Crystal Geyser water-bottling plant. He said the group has submitted an application to the state Department of Ecology and that a community meeting is planned for June 26. The group shared information about the upcoming Middle Fork closure with Linda Williams. Meeting ended at 9:29 a.m.
