Valley View CEO Gaelon Spradley discussed Valley View’s history and future. He said Valley View is
exploring whether it could expand its target audience to serve a broader cross-section of the
community. Gaelon said Valley View’s core is medical, dental and behavioral health and that it is forging
in-roads regarding where to refer locals.
JP Anderson discussed the benefits of a coordinated health care effort and the need for a proactive
approach to wellness care.
Commissioner Fund asked whether Valley View is concentrating on marketing.
Gaelon said Cascade had approached Valley View about possibly purchasing the Cascade practice but
that Valley View would have needed more time than Cascade could allow.
Gaelon discussed his work history.
The group discussed some of the problems Lewis County faces, including
• Obesity
• Smoking
• Opioid abuse
• Transportation
Gaelon identified the following as funnels into primary care:
• Pregnancy care
• Elder care
• Urgent care
• Occupational health
JP discussed economic stability and training for jobs of the future.
