Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve a cost change amendment between Lewis County and the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for Scammon Creek (RM 1.15) Barrier Removal /Graf Road MP 1.01. Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve an agreement between Lewis County and the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for Scammon Creek (RM 2.28 and 2.78) Barrier Removals/Graf Road MP 1.34 and Blanchard Road MP 0.698. Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve an agreement between Lewis County and the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) for King Creek Barrier Removal Site 700120 (King Road MP 5.31). Rieva Lester discussed a resolution to approve a $120,000 Distressed Counties (.09) grant to the University of Washington for a feasibility study related to building a biorefinery in Lewis County’s Industrial Park. The commissioners said they’d like a UW representative to attend the meeting. Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move one Presentation, two Consent items and six Deliberation items to the Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Announcements Susan DeLaire left at 9:19 a.m. Becky Butler said the budget call letter and fund rates will be sent out Aug. 12. She said she has cleared her schedule to provide training and assistance on Thursdays. Becky said budget meetings will take place on Oct. 10, 17 and 24. Steve Walton said a film crew is on site to film portions of the movie “Maysville.” He said preparation is ongoing for the fair, which kicks off Aug. 13. Daleyn Coleman said the county can no longer ask job applicants for their salary information under a new law that recently went into effect. JP Anderson and Steve Mansfield discussed new hires in their departments. Erik Martin said consultant interviews are planned for later in the day. Steve Wohld discussed cybersecurity, including the Safe and Secure training. He also discussed work being done to post resolutions online. He invited the group to an upcoming hearing room audio demo. Josh Metcalf discussed succession planning, new hires, vacancies and upcoming retirements. Lara McRea discussed Directors’ upcoming group meetings with Erik Martin. Commissioner Stamper discussed an upcoming meeting with the Cowlitz Tribe. Commissioner Fund said Destination Packwood has reopened its doors, thanks to volunteers. She also praised Discover Lewis County’s widespread reach throughout Lewis County and beyond. Commissioner Jackson discussed a state 911 meeting he attended the previous day. Lara McRea left at 9:55 a.m. Commissioner Jackson also discussed dashed addresses, noting that he learned that the state was supposed to pay for the change-over of addresses that were created as dashed addresses. Lee Napier joined at 10:01 a.m. Meeting adjourned at 10:02 a.m.
