Call for bids for the 2020 Rock Proposal BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
LEWIS COUNTY WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 19-307
CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE 2020 ROCK PROPOSAL
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 18-344, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)
adopted the 2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP); and
WHEREAS, Lewis County's 3R Program is listed on the 2019-2024 TIP, and
WHEREAS, the BOCC wishes to complete maintenance and 3R program projects on
various roads in Lewis County in 2020 and needs to purchase crushed screenings, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 18-116, the BOCC adopted the 2018 Standard
Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction and this proposal shall be
performed by contract in accordance with these specifications.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Public Works is instructed
to issue a Call for Bids and Contract Specifications for the 2020 Rock Proposal Bids for
this proposal shall be submitted to the Clerk of the BOCC (351 N.W. North Street, Room
210, CMS-01, Chehalis, Washington 98532) by or before 11.00 a m on Tuesday,
November 12, 2019 and will be opened on or after 11.00 a.m. on November 12, 2019

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Lewis County
or designee, will open sealed proposals and publicly read them aloud on or after 11.00 a m. on
Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Lewis County Courthouse, Chehalis, Washington, for the 2020
Rock Proposal. This contract provides for the production *** Crushed Screenings and Crushed
Surface Top Course,*** and other work, all in accordance with these Contract Provisions, and the
Standard Specifications

11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Sealed proposals must be delivered to the Clerk of the Board of Lewis County Commissioners (351 N W
North Street, Room 210, CMS-01, Chehalis, Washington 98532), by or before 11:00 A.M. on the date
specified for opening, and in an envelope clearly marked "SEALED BID FOR THE 2020 ROCK
PROPOSAL, TO BE OPENED ON OR AFTER 11:00 A.M. ON November 12, 2019.
Informational copies of maps, plans and specifications are on file for inspection in the office of
the County Engineer of Lewis County in Chehalis, Washington The contract documents may be viewed
and downloaded from Lewis County's website @ www.lewiscountywa.gov/.
The Lewis County Public Works Department in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964, 78 Stat 252, 42 U S C 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department
of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in Federally assisted
programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders
that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement,

Description:
This contract provides for the production of crushed screenings and crushed surfacing top course
for Lewis County's maintenance and 3R program This program is listed on Lewis County's
previously adopted 2019-2024 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program This material
purchase will allow Lewis County crews to complete the planned maintenance and 3R program
work on various county roads
Rock material will be purchased under Fund 506 (Pits & Quarries) and will be charged to the
appropriate County Road Project Number, Special Maintenance Number, or Reimbursable Work
Number as needed for the various construction/maintenance activity.
Sealed bids for the 2020 Rock Proposal shall be submitted to the Clerk of the Board of Lewis
