2019-09-09 Quarterly update with the PFDQuarterly update with the PFD
September 9, 2019
2:34 p.m.
Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Todd Chaput
Recorder: Rieva Lester
Todd Chaput said bids for the second-floor construction project came in higher than anticipated. He said
he was urged to put it out to bid again in the fall, when conditions would be more favorable.
Todd said work on the exterior will go out to bid around the same time.
Todd said the PFD has made the elevator construction its own phase and is paying for that project out of
its capital funds. He said it’s possible the elevator install will be complete at the same time as the
mezzanine.
Todd said the exterior expansion will be a wrap-around style. He said the PFD also will be adding
parking.
Todd said the sports hub will have 12 basketball courts and 22 volleyball courts.
Todd said tax revenues are up, and that the group’s monthly income is roughly $52,000, which is higher
than what was budgeted.
Todd said the group is working on interlocal agreements with the city and school. He said the PFD is
providing funding to get the fields up to par.
Todd said he will be talking with the PFD and Sports Commission members about the Rec park
renovation.
Todd said there are no plans for concession stands and portable bathrooms at this time. He said those
would be in the long-term plan.
Todd said the group is still looking into a possible naming-rights agreement. He said a potential grants
writer has reached out to the group.
Meeting adjourned at 3:09 p.m.
