2019-09-16 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up September 16, 2019 9:00 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Stamper, Lara McRae, Becky Butler, and Rieva Lester Recorder: Candace Hallom Becky discussed the Citizens Budget Committee. Becky listed the names of interested applicants. The Commissioners’ recommended accepting all six applicants to the budget committee. Rieva discussed the salary commission. There are five applicants; one is related to a Lewis County employee so he is not eligible. Rieva stated that Larry McGee has concerns about being on the salary commission and strategic planning. He is not sure if he has the time for both. The Commissioners will attempt recruitment for another business representative. Rieva discussed Packetwriter 2.0. The commissioners will need to setup a four-digit pin number. Lara stated that Packetwriter 2.0 will be used on the October 7, 2019, BOCC meeting. Rieva discussed I-976. The WSP Trooper’s Association president would like to be added to the agenda for the next Mayors meeting. He will only be providing information about I-976. Rieva left the meeting at 9:14 am Commissioner Fund discussed the TestIT app. Staff will post on Facebook. Commissioner Fund discussed the Office of the Chehalis Basin. Commissioner Fund discussed her trip to Washington, D.C. Commissioner Stamper has been getting calls from chicken farmers who have concerns about values of their properties. Commissioner Stamper discussed the North and South Prairie Road. Commissioner Stamper would like a letter sent to the property owners explaining that Lewis County has no current plans for the easements. Lara discussed Strategic planning. Tanner LLC will be at the county office on Thursday and Friday. Tanner would like to meet with the commissioners individually. In order to prevent a serial meeting, the commissioners will meet individually with Tanner but it will be an open public meeting. The commissioners reviewed their calendars. Meeting ended at 9:55 a.m.
