Commissioner Fund made a motion to add the following three items to the day’s BOCC Business
Meeting:
• Call for sealed bids for the Sand Sheds project
• Modify burn restrictions
• Appoint Patti Craig to LMTAAA
Commissioner Stamper seconded.
Erik Martin joined at 9:04 a.m.
Motion passed 3-0.
Rieva Lester gave an update on the Salary Commission.
Josh Metcalf said he has an RFQ for a Transfer Station feasibility study that he’d like to have the Solid
Waste Disposal District hold a special meeting concurrent with the BOCC’s regular Business Meeting Oct.
7 to present the resolution.
Becky Butler said Bill Serrahn submitted a late application for the Citizens Budget Committee.
The commissioners said to add Bill to the group.
Commissioner Fund discussed an upcoming grant for a broadband feasibility study. Commissioner Fund
said she would reach out to the EDC about applying on behalf of Lewis County.
Commissioner Fund discussed WSAC board openings as well as work the Legislative Steering Committee
is spearheading.
The commissioners discussed their calendars.
Commissioner Stamper said he’d like to reach out to Tacoma Power to ask for details about their plan
for Riffe and Mayfield lakes.
Commissioner Stamper left at 9:42 a.m.
The commissioners approved minute folders for the weeks of Aug. 12, 19 and 26, 2019.
The commissioners approved signing a letter to Gov. Inslee regarding a request for funding to revamp a
study on outdoor recreation.
Commissioner Jackson discussed a recent meeting during which the Council of Governments indicated it
is getting ready to send interlocal agreements but that it didn’t plan to reach out to the various entities.
