Budget Services Manager Becky Butler reviewed the preliminary budget for 2020.
Becky said several offices and departments requested additional funding totaling roughly $1.4 million.
The group briefly discussed the Citizens Budget Committee, the Roads transfer and the WSU Extension
MOU.
Becky described increase requests, including those linked to:
• Indigent defense
• Commissioner Mitchell’s salary
• Professional vet services at the Animal Shelter
• Probation officer position at District Court
• Operational costs for supplies, professional services and interpreters in the PA’s Office
• Supplies, phones, services for the Sheriff’s Office
• For the Jail: Body scanner, kitchen contract, Naphcare, jail transport vehicle
• Superior Court – wage increase
• Auditor Legacy system
• Mental health tax: Jail for prescriptions, Drug Court for contract services, CJTA funds shortfall
