Updates and Actions: 1. Permit Center a. Monthly report
Graham and Lee presented the December and final year permit and
revenue numbers. Permit applications, permits issued and revenue have all increased over 2016. 2. Planning Division a. Planning Commission
Lee stated the Planning Commission is down one Commissioner for
2018. There is a Planning Commission meeting. VSP consultant, John Kliem, will attend. Fred Evander would like to meet with the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to discuss the comp plan and critical areas. Lee will schedule a
time with the BOCC. 3. Interlocal Agreements Lee has a meeting with Chehalis on 1/10 to discuss the Interlocal Agreement (ILA). Lee indicated a clear ILA that is mutually beneficial is the goal. Commissioner Jackson encouraged open county-to-city staff
dialogue. Commissioner Stamper would like to see some sort of
uniformity with the agreements between the different cities, if possible. Commissioner Jackson would like to set up meetings with Winlock and Centralia in the future. Lee would like to discuss terminating the ILA with Morton now that the city has adopted a Shoreline Master Plan.
Commissioner Stamper will swing by the Mayor of Morton’s office to check
in prior. 4. Flood Authority Contracts Lee adjusted the Flood Authority contracts with the consultants. All parties are looking forward to the capital budget being passed to help
ensure future funding. 5. South Lewis County Airport Community Development has been working with the Federal Aviation Administration on the upcoming project at the South Lewis County Airport. Property lines were discussed. Commissioner Stamper would like to
preserve land for the South Lewis County Airport.
