FISCAL
Move: Steve said the move is complete. He said he would
check on lighting.
FACILITIES
Relocation plan for Family Support and WSU: The state has
placed its order to plumb the former Fiscal site for Family Support. Steve said the state expects to have
it completed by March 15. Steve said the computer lab will be used for Munis training. Steve said plans
also are in place to reconfigure the hearing room to accommodate meetings in the courtroom. Steve
said acoustics concerns and videography needs also would be addressed. Commissioner Jackson
expressed concerns about doors being left unlocked. Commissioner Stamper said he doesn’t have a
master key.
Steve discussed possible configurations for the BOCC and Budget offices. Steve said the plan also is to
move evening meetings to the old credit union so the courthouse could be closed at night.
Steve said HR and the Risk / PDR offices have outgrown their office space. He discussed possibly moving
them to the space being vacated by WSU.
Personnel: Steve discussed a personnel item. Steve said a custodial vacancy has been filled. He said
another vacancy is being filled. Steve said Isaac will begin his work at the Fairgrounds Feb. 1.
CFP: Steve said repairs to the 508 shop likely will be completed within days. Steve said the building could
be declared surplus and then sold.
Commissioner Jackson left at 3:15 p.m. and returned at 3:18 p.m.
The group discussed potential renovations to the courtroom.

Steve: Secure master key for
Commissioner Stamper.
Steve said there is an air quality condition at Juvenile portable.
Archie Smith joined at 3:33 p.m.
Steve said the CFP is discussing replacement of the Juvenile portable. He said CFP also is discussing
setting aside funding for upcoming projects, including software upgrades.
Steve said a leak has been discovered at the Animal Shelter.
Commissioner Fund left at 3:37 p.m.
FAIR
Cold weather shelter: Steve said the shelter has not been open lately as the weather has not warranted
it.
Public meeting: Event planned for Jan. 23.
Discussion regarding annexation: Steve said the annexation would save the county roughly $30,000 in
water costs. Steve said there are no areas of concern as the sales tax already goes to Chehalis instead of
Lewis County. Steve said he would approach Rob Hill about how to move forward.
Commissioner Fund returned at 3:40 p.m.
Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, and Commissioner Stamper said they support the idea of
moving forward with the annexation plan.
Rodeo events in the works: Steve said efforts are being made to develop a rodeo event.
Country music fundraising event: Steve said efforts are being made to develop a country music event.
FINANCE SYSTEM
Munis sessions: Steve said Munis sessions will resume in mid-February.
Steve said Chief Nielsen sent a thank you for use of the fairgrounds for K-9 training.
