2018-01-29 BOCC Wrap-UpBOCC Wrap-Up January 29, 2018 9 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Erik Martin, Jack Niehuser, Lee Napier, Eric Eisenberg (9:01 a.m.), Daleyn Coleman (9:01 a.m.) Recorder: Rieva Lester Lee Napier discussed her department’s newly launched information sites regarding the Hirst decision. Daleyn Coleman left at 9:04 a.m. Commissioner Jackson left at 9:06 a.m. and returned at 9:08 a.m. Commissioner Stamper said he toured the driveway of a property owner who had discussed concerns about road standards. Commissioner Stamper said the developers need to be required to put the roads in and then have the buyers be responsible for the driveways. Eric Eisenberg gave a brief history of the county’s driveway/private road rules. He said the county could change the requirements. He touched on the possibility of amnesty for property owners already facing the predicament regarding road standards. Commissioner Stamper said the county may need to discontinue the use of simple segregations (simple segs). Lee Napier said simple segs could be eliminated from county code if the commissioners wanted to move in that direction. Erik discussed the previous use of private road assessments. He said fire chiefs and ambulance services need to weigh in on road discussions. Lee said the county has five roads that do not meet standards and for which the county is awaiting engineer reports. Commissioner Jackson left at 9:44 a.m. Eric discussed a letter received from the state Liquor and Cannabis Board. He suggested no response to the letter at this time. Erik and Jack Niehuser left at 9:49 a.m. At 9:50 a.m., Commissioner Fund announced that the meeting was recessing until 2:30 p.m. At 2:47 p.m., the Wrap-Up meeting resumed with Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Jackson in attendance. The commissioners discussed their calendars. Meeting ended at 2:55 p.m.
