Sheila Gray introduced Patrick Shults, the new WSU Regional Extension Stewardship Forester.
Sheila gave the following updates:
Gardening for Everyone: Good turnout over the weekend.
Tree recycling: 251 volunteer hours, 960 trees processed, yielding 21 tons of mulch.
Year-end volunteer hours: 11,180 total hours volunteered, averaging 140 hours per person.
Master Recycler: Food waste reduction workshop planned.
Rieva Lester left and Rachel Hunt joined the meeting at 10:40 a.m.
4-H: Sheila mentioned having six delegates at the Know Your Government Conference. She also
discussed meetings for the farm guides with Isaac Freeman. They would like the deadline be the end of
March.
Patrick discussed with BOCC about his background in forestry. He expressed a desire for facilitating
youth education programs. Commissioner Fund invited him to the Chehalis Flood Basin meetings.
