Lewis County Clerk Scott Tinney said that less than two weeks
ago, he learned that he would need to staff Alcohol Court in
District Court beginning April 1, 2018. He said he’ll also have
staff clerking for the Cascade Mental Health Facility.
The group noted that the cost of a new FTE would be more
than the $44,000 that was estimated.
Scott said Superior Court has asked the Clerk’s Office to
estimate its budget needs.
Becky Butler cautioned against considering the passport
revenue as an offset for the position. She also said equipment
costs, phone services, etc., should be included in the estimate for reimbursements. She suggested using
the interfund rates to help determine the actual costs.
Scott said he would work on the numbers for the reimbursement requests.
