2018-02-27 Update with Central ServicesUpdate with Central Services February 27, 2018 2:33 p.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Steve Walton, Doug Carey, Matt Patana, Rachel Hunt, Candy Hallom (2:36 p.m.) Recorder: Rieva Lester Steve Walton said Bob Sobolesky’s retirement party is planned for March 5. Steve said work continues on the Family Support revamp. Candy Hallom joined the meeting at 2:36 p.m. Steve said the cold weather shelter has been used frequently. Steve suggested meeting with the church after the shelter is no longer needed. Steve asked if the board would like to take the first step toward annexation of the fair property. The board agreed to sign a letter and notice to move forward. Steve said Tamara Hayes is applying for a grant from the Port of Seattle. Steve said the first rodeo committee was held Feb. 26. He said March 5 is Bob Sobolesky’s retirement party, March 6 is the fair commission meeting and March 8 is the Garlic Fest meeting. He said work continues to relocate the fair workshop and that trainer training sessions are taking place. He said end users will be trained in March. The group discussed the proposed changes to the BOCC office. Steve said the proposal is to move the main entrance of the BOCC to the Budget entrance. Candy left at 3:18 p.m. Commissioner Jackson left at 3:20 p.m. The commissioners reviewed plans for a wooden seal. Commissioner Jackson returned at 3:25 p.m. The group discussed chairs and other office furniture. Meeting adjourned at 3:32 p.m.
