Matt Matayoshi said Winlock Mayor Don Bradshaw said he dropped off a letter to the commissioners
indicating he would like to apply for .09 funding.
Matt said Packwood would like to secure .09 funding to explore funding for a study for a smaller-scale
sewer project for business connections. He said construction would be summer / fall 2019.
Matt said .09 applications would be reviewed March 9.
Matt said the EDC is preparing an organizational overview.
Matt said the EDC is asking the county for a slight increase for 2019.
Commissioner Jackson joined at 1:26 p.m. He then left briefly, returning at 1:28 p.m.
Matt said he had a discussion with the Mickelson Family, which is not interested in renewing the
agreement with the city of Winlock and Benaroya. He said the agreement expires at the end of the
month. Commissioner Jackson and Matt said a meeting with the Mickelsons is planned for March 9.
Matt said a “Shark-Tank”-style event is planned for June.
Matt said the EDA said $600 million has been allocated for 2017 disasters, including an event in April
2017.
Matt spoke about coal transition money as well.
The group discussed the need to find occupants for the Highway 12 building in Packwood.
The group said they would change their meeting time to 1:30 p.m.
Matt discussed the co-working space in Chehalis. He said one of his friends in the pet supplies field
wants a membership to the co-working space.
Matt said the EDC has launched an internship campaign.
Commissioner Jackson invited Matt to the transportation conference planned for April 6.
