Elizabeth Hicker said she wanted to meet with the commissioners representing herself.
Elizabeth said she worries about the elderly, should the economy collapse.
Elizabeth said the new seniors board is looking to gambling and alcohol for funding. She said she feels
the board may be going in the wrong direction. She said she would prefer to see the seniors secure
grants rather than rely on gambling and alcohol proceeds.
Commissioner Jackson left at 11:17 a.m.
Commissioner Stamper and Commissioner Fund discussed gambling, such as bingo, and alcohol, such as
beer during special events.
Rieva Lester left and Rachel Hunt joined the meeting at 11:25 a.m.
Commissioner Stamper discussed other possible ideas of getting people interested in the senior centers.
Commissioner Stamper discussed services provided by the Timberland Library and having the seniors
partner with them.
Elizabeth Hicker said she would be more than happy to help write a federal grant for the upkeep of the
centers.
The Commissioners suggested she discuss this with Steve Walton.
Elizabeth further outlined concerns about the current volunteer guidelines.
