2018-03-21 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update March 21, 2018 Start time- 9:00 a.m. Attendees: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper (9:07) Erik Martin, Danette York, Tawni Shepherd, Becky Butler, Archie Smith, Sheila Gray, Matt Jaeger, Steve Mansfield Guests: Anthony Ahrens Recorder: Rachel Hunt Becky Butler discussed the upcoming budget amendment. She outlined several employee payouts for employees who have left the county. Lee Napier discussed Community Development’s notice of hearing for the Open Space program. Erik Martin discussed the Workman Road hearing set for Monday initiated by the property owners. Commissioner Jackson moved 2 notice items, 2 deliberation items, and 2 hearings to the Monday BOCC Legislative Meeting. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Roundtable Steve Mansfield- nothing for the group Matt Jaeger- moving forward with deadline for Superior Court. He also added they are working on the logistics of the two recording systems between District Court and Superior Court interfacing for the new treatment courts. Commissioner Stamper joined the meeting at 9:07 a.m. Commissioner Fund discussed the new treatment facilities and security concerns. Commissioner Jackson left the meeting at 9:08 a.m. and reentered at 9:09 a.m. Danette York discussed the late onset of the Flu this year and outlined the current staffing level in her department because of the Flu. Steve Walton- gave a brief update on the completion of the conference room in the basement. Sheila Gray- Discussed the upcoming WSU fermentation class. Archie Smith- Discussed a resolution vs. a PAF for the District Court Commissioner. The BOCC advised a resolution would be best. Lee Napier- Discussed the ILA. Mentioned Bill Teitzel will be attending the meeting. She asked Commissioner Jackson if he is still wanting to attend another meeting with the working group. He said he would like to attend this meeting. Erik Martin- Nothing for the group. Commissioner Jackson- gave an update about the city meetings in regards to county-wide transit. Anthony Ahrens joined the meeting at 9:31 a.m. Sheila Gray mentioned how difficult it currently is to buy bus passes throughout the twin cities. Commissioner Jackson discussed the process for cities who opt out initially and want to be added in later on. Becky Butler asked how this tax could negatively impact other taxes which would to go public safety. Commissioner Fund asked when the ground breaking will occur for the transit center in Centralia. Danette York mentioned the ribbon cutting for A Second Time Around Senior Thrift Store will be March 29th. Meeting ended at 9:45 a.m.
