2018-03-27 Update with Central ServicesUpdate with Central Services March 27, 2018 2:32 p.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Steve Walton, Doug Carey Recorder: Rieva Lester The group discussed plans to move WSU staff to the James Building. Commissioner Jackson said he plans to meet with Cowlitz County and others in April to discuss the possibility of a four- county Extension. Steve Walton said the USDA wants to secure its lease for 2018 and 2019. Steve said he will reach out to Bill Wamsley. Steve said the new training room should be up and running the first week of April. Steve and Doug Carey said work on the BOCC / Budget remodel continues. Doug said the CFP recommends going with CCI for sound and video for the hearing room. He said the total will be $13,328. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Jackson supported the recommendation. Doug reminded the commissioners that the CFP recommends selling the Packwood property. The group discussed the Star Tavern complex, possible future considerations and an RFQ. Steve said the cold weather shelter has closed. He said a wrap-up meeting is planned for April 11. Steve said the Centralia City Council will discuss the county’s annexation request later in the day. Steve said a dog show is planned for the end of the week. He also discussed Isaac Freeman’s DLC progress. Steve said a fair employee is out on FMLA. The group discussed the fairgrounds. The commissioners said they would like Steve to sign the BOCC staff members’ leave requests, timecards and payroll. Steve said the Treasurer’s Office is undergoing Munis training this week. Steve commended the decision to push the go-live date to June 1. Steve discussed his meeting regarding Law and Justice security. He said the group discussed updating its signage. He said the security policy for the Law and Justice building needs to be updated.
