Rodney Reynolds gave an overview of the county’s financials, including $1.8 million set to mature in the
general fund. He said $1 million will be reinvested and $800,000 will be left liquid.

Rodney gave an overview of the 2017 year-end totals. He said the county saw a $1.8 million increase in
revenues over 2016.
Rodney gave an overview of 2018 year-to-date totals. He noted that the Tacoma Dam payment to the
county was delayed. Commissioner Stamper said Tacoma Power wants to renegotiate its contract.
Suzette Smith gave an overview of the Budget Status Report. She noted that she is two to three weeks
behind on wrapping up year-end totals.
Suzette said the Auditor’s Office is asking that the BOCC allow employees to extend their vacation banks
because of payroll changes, Munis, etc. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Stamper said they
supported allowing employees in the Auditor’s Office to surpass the maximum accrual amount.
Suzette stressed the importance of documentation. She noted that her office was asked to stop
requesting a DRS form, which she said is necessary.
Larry Grove said everything is set up for the freeholder election. He said the new election system will go
live for the primary.
