2018-04-30 BOCC WrapBOCC Wrap-Up April 30, 2018 9:06 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Stamper, Archie Smith, Commissioner Jackson (9:10 a.m.), Candy Hallom (9:10 a.m.), Becky Butler (9:13 a.m.) Recorder: Rieva Lester Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move a resolution to list the bids received and contractor(s) selected for the Culvert Material Purchase – CMP 1603 Stearns Creek tributary and CMP 1604 Prairie Creek barrier removal projects. Commissioner Fund seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Commissioner Jackson and Candy Hallom joined at 9:10 a.m. Archie Smith discussed the number of applications received for the county manager position. Commissioner Fund left at 9:11 a.m. Archie further discussed applicants and the interview process. Becky Butler joined at 9:13 a.m. Archie said past practice has included a BOCC panel, a Directors’ panel and a public tour. Commissioner Jackson floated the idea of a public meet-and-greet. Candy said a landowner submitted a formal letter requesting a name change for a road that’s on her property. Archie and Becky left at 9:17 a.m. Commissioner Jackson said the road problem has been going on since 2009. Candy said the road in question isn’t even used. She said the gentleman changed the road name in 2009 without the woman’s consent. Commissioner Jackson said DPA David Fine has looked into it. Candy suggested having Community Development write up an explanation about what happened and what steps the owner should take. Commissioner Stamper said he’d like to have Lee Napier take a look at the landowner’s written request. Commissioner Fund returned at 9:26 a.m. The group further discussed holding a meet-and-greet / public forum for the county manager applicants. The commissioners discussed memberships. The commissioners said if any special applicant forum were to be held, it should include the Blue Ribbon Task Force. Commissioner Jackson said he has a meeting regarding the possible short-term regionalization of WSU Extension later in the day. He said the county would need to review its MOU. Commissioner Stamper left at 9:51 a.m. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Jackson discussed their calendars. Meeting ended at 9:54 a.m.
