2018-05-14 Meeting with Greg King - Tacoma PowerMeeting with Greg King May 14, 2018 2:31 p.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Greg King Recorder: Rieva Lester Greg King said Tacoma Power has abandoned plans for a fish passage on the Cowlitz. Greg said the settlement with Tacoma Power indicates that Tacoma Power will rear 600,000 pounds of fish. Greg said the BOCC should be on the fish committee. Greg said the Friends of the Cowlitz took Tacoma Power to court over the fish passage agreement in 2000 and lost. Greg discussed the Friends of the Cowlitz group and the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) group. Greg said he will support the BOCC’s renegotiation efforts if it chooses to renegotiate the county’s contract with Tacoma Power. Commissioner Fund said the commissioners would discuss the Tacoma Power agreement with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on May 15 and May 23. Commissioner Stamper described his work forming a committee of nine or so to discuss regional progress. Commissioner Jackson left at 3:01 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 3:04 p.m.
