Commissioner Fund discussed a proclamation recognizing May 20-26, 2018, as WSU Master Gardener
Volunteer Week in Lewis County.
Erik Martin discussed a proclamation to name May 21-27, 2018, as Public Works Week in Lewis County.
Erik Martin discussed a call for sealed bids for the 2018 Countywide Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) for CRP
2179C.
Erik Martin discussed a call for sealed bids for the Coal Creek Drive Long Term Bank Protection Project,
County Special Maintenance Project No. SM15F739300030; FEMA Project No. DR 4253.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two (2) Presentations, two (2) Notice items and two (2)
Consent items to the Monday, May 22, 2018, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Danette York asked the commissioners whether the BOCC would prefer to have a single appointee or a
citizens’ panel hear the dangerous dog cases. She said the position currently is contracted out. She said
she envisions a panel of five, with three panelists making a quorum. She said she didn’t envision having
compensation for the citizens’ panel, though mileage reimbursement could be considered.
Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson and Commissioner Stamper asked Danette to proceed
pursuing the plan for a citizens’ panel.
Steve Would cautioned about another entity that had been hacked.
Archie Smith asked the group to share any suggested finalist questions to him.
Rieva Lester reminded the group that there will be no Directors’ Update meeting on May 23.
Steve Mansfield discussed the need for training and awareness.
Lee Napier said she would attend OMB meeting at the Moose later in the day.
Commissioner Fund discussed the Office of the Chehalis Basin’s new director.
