2018-06-04 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up Meeting June 4, 2018 9:01 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Archie Smith, Eric Eisenberg, Daleyn Coleman, Danette York, Commissioner Stamper (9:12 a.m.) Guest: Alex Brown of The Chronicle Recorder: Rieva Lester Commissioner Jackson made a motion to add two resolutions – a notice of hearing for Ordinance 1288, which would change the Lewis County Zoning Map, and the indemnification and defense of two Lewis County employees – and to remove from the agenda the hearing for Ordinance 1285 (secure medication returns). Commissioner Fund seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Danette York left at 9:11 a.m. Commissioner Stamper joined at 9:12 a.m. Eric Eisenberg discussed the WATV ordinance on the day’s agenda. He said the commissioners could set the effective date during the hearing. Commissioner Fund discussed various ways, including using Discover Lewis County, to get notice to the public. At 9:18 a.m., Commissioner Fund announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 10 minutes to discuss pending litigation. At 9:28 a.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 3 minutes. Executive Session ended at 9:31 a.m. and the regular meeting resumed with the commissioners, Alex Brown and Eric Eisenberg in attendance. Commissioner Stamper made a motion to make an offer of judgement in the amount of $1 in the Cortland-Green-Hupy case, case No. 18-201897-34. Commissioner Jackson seconded. Motion passed 3-0. At 9:32 a.m., Commissioner Fund announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(g) for 10 minutes to discuss a candidate’s qualifications. Executive Session ended at 9:42 a.m. and the regular meeting resumed with the commissioners, Archie Smith and Daleyn Coleman in attendance. Archie and Daleyn left at 9:44 a.m. Alex Brown returned at 9:44 a.m. The commissioners discussed Onalaska Water-Sewer District 5. Commissioner Stamper discussed parking troubles at county-owned property at the east end of Packwood Airport. Commissioner Jackson left at 9:47 a.m. Meeting ended at 9:48 a.m.
