Erik Martin discussed the temporary closure of Pleasant Valley Road to all through traffic.
Danette York discussed contract Amendment #1 between Washington State Health Care Authority and
Lewis County.
Commissioner Jackson discussed a resolution to approve the expansion of the Mass Transit Benefit
District. He said Twin Transit would be responsible for the district.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move one Presentation, one Notice item, two Consent items
and two Deliberation items to the Monday, July 16, 2018, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Commissioner Stamper left at 9:12 a.m.
Roundtable
Steve Mansfield said river gauge information is being updated online.
Commissioner Stamper returned at 9:15 a.m.
Lee Napier asked about the possible need for an agreement regarding countywide transit. She asked if
she could sit in on the day’s Clean Air meeting. Lee asked about the Boistfort water grant. She said it
already has a sponsor. Commissioner Stamper asked Lee to reach out to Arny Davis. Lee said the airport
manager position is open.
Erik Martin said he’d like to meet with each department head as he prepares for the transition to the
county manager position.
Danette York asked about scheduling a meeting regarding Kat Carroll’s complaints about a neighbor’s
dogs.
Susan DeLaire left at 9:29 a.m.
Wayne Whiton reminded the group about heal illness safety.
Steve Wohld discussed cybersecurity regarding outside vendors. He and Becky Butler discussed the need
to address risks in every contract.
Steve Walton reminded the group to close blinds to keep the buildings cool. He discussed recent hires.
Becky Butler said Budget worksheets are going out. She said the call letter already went out.
Daleyn Coleman said she will be attending a Janus webinar regarding the recent ruling on union dues.
Erik Martin discussed Summit Law’s interpretation of the ruling.
Commissioner Jackson said he is preparing for an upcoming Risk conference.
Commissioner Stamper said he will be on vacation.
Commissioner Fund said Centralia City Council is not moving forward with its “quiet zone” suggestion.
Erik discussed the proposed TIGER proposal.
