Commissioner Fund discussed the proclamation for the Farmers’ market.
Lee Napier discussed the notice of hearing for the fee schedule.
Danette York discussed her resolution from the Department of Commerce.
Danette York outlined Public Health’s upcoming resolutions amending contracts.
Commissioner Jackson moved two notice items, two consent items, and four deliberation items to the
Monday, July 30th BOCC Business meeting. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion carried 2-0.
Steve Mansfield gave an update on the current operations within the dispatch center and the totals for
2017. There were 81 inquiries total. Not one citizen complaint out of 67,199 dispatched calls in 2017.
Steve discussed the differences between deconsolidation and consolidation. He continued by outlining
the drawbacks, threats to safety and cost of deconsolidation of 911 centers.
Lee Napier discussed feedback from a customer at Community Development.
Tim Fife continued the discussion about customer feedback at county offices.
The group discussed how social media is helping with getting the word out on roads projects.
Wayne gave an update on the Washington Risk Pool conference.
Danette discussed what the animal shelter committee is working on. She mentioned they will be setting
up a group tour. Commissioner Fund asked if the animal shelter will have a booth at the fair. Danette
also discussed the change in hours for her department.
Steve Wohld gave an update on a server. Steve discussed current projects being worked on within IT.
The group discussed tutorials for Windows 10.
Steve Wohld mentioned statistics on cybersecurity. Steve also discussed current hacking trends and
identifying secure websites.
Becky Butler mentioned everyone has their budget worksheets and discussed MUNIS training items.
Steve Walton discussed he will be moving into the basement office once Erik Martin starts as county
manager August 1st. He continued by giving an update on a security breach in the Historic Courthouse.
Steve Mansfield discussed the addition of cameras within the building.
Archie Smith discussed the need to dial 911 with a suspicious person in the building. He continued by
giving an update on the JANUS decision and union representation.
Commissioner Jackson discussed smoking the pulled pork for the employee picnic. Commissioner
Jackson wanted to make a special note recognizing the passing of former Commissioner Schulte.
Commissioner Fund mentioned that no one could tell a story like Commissioner Schulte.
Commissioner Jackson and Steve Wohld stepped out of the meeting at 10:11 a.m.
Becky added they had a successful update with Lewis County seniors.
Meeting ended at 10:14 a.m.
