Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Jonathan Meyer, Wayne
Whiton, David Fine, Ross Petersen, Janelle Kambich, Dianne Dorey, Eric Eisenberg, Becky Butler, Erik
Martin (approximately 3:19 p.m.)

David Fine said the county is doing well regarding compliance
with the Janus ruling.
Jonathan Meyer said the county is hiring a felony DPA and an
office assistant. He discussed potential funding for his victim
witness employee. Jonathan asked that the Family Support
attorney receive the pay increase the civil attorneys received.
He said the position will be eliminated effective Jan. 1, 2019, as
the county consolidates the position with Thurston County.
Jonathan said the PA’s Office already has the money.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to place all civil
attorneys on the same pay scale.
Commissioner Jackson seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Archie Smith left at 3:11 p.m.
At 3:11 p.m., Commissioner Fund announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under
RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 5 minutes to discuss pending litigation.
At 3:16 p.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 5 minutes.
Executive Session ended at 3:21 p.m. with Dianne Dorey, Erik Martin, Wayne Whiton, David Fine, Ross
Petersen, Janelle Kambich, Jonathan Meyer, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson and
Commissioner Stamper in attendance.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to engage in settlement negotiations with Riverside Fire’s
attorney.
Commissioner Jackson seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Dianne Dorey left at 3:22 p.m.

Jonathan: Discuss possibility of

Commissioner Stamper: Meet
with Arny Davis, indicate county
needs PFD’s construction plans.
Commissioner Stamper left at 3:29 p.m. and returned at 3:31 p.m.
Jonathan discussed armed security. He said the county once had armed guards.
Commissioner Stamper left at 3:32 p.m.
Jonathan said he would talk to Superior Court about the possibility of armed security.
Commissioner Stamper returned at 3:33 p.m.
Jonathan said his understanding is that the PFD needs to provide its plans regarding its construction
plans. Commissioner Stamper said he would meet with Arny Davis and indicate the county needs the
plans.
At 3:36 p.m., Commissioner Fund announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under
RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 20 minutes to discuss pending litigation.
Executive Session ended at 3:56 p.m.
Commissioner Jackson made a motion to allow Eric Eisenberg to pursue global settlement negotiations
with Cortland, Green and Hupy individually.
Commissioner Stamper seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
