2018-09-18 Update with BudgetUpdate with Budget

The group recapped the previous week’s 2019 preliminary budget meetings.
The group discussed requests related to Naphcare as well as increased costs related to health insurance.
The group discussed upcoming meetings planned for Sept. 27. Becky outlined requests to be discussed
during the Sept. 27 meeting.
Becky noted that the MOU for the WSU Extension director was not updated when the director went part
time.
Commissioner Stamper left at 3:56 p.m.
Becky said the Coroner may need additional funding to help cover indigent cremations. She said Public
Health and Social Services is seeking additional funding to create two positions: Environmental Health
Specialist and a Code Enforcement Office.
Commissioner Stamper returned at 4:01 p.m.
The group further discussed upcoming budget meetings.
Erik Martin suggested giving a “big picture overview” of the budget at the beginning of each preliminary
budget meeting.
The group discussed the increased costs associated with law and justice.
