Commissioner Jackson said he spoke to Gary Fredricks about
the WSU Extension MOU. He said Gary is slated to be with the
county through April. He said Jim Kropf has been invited to the
upcoming budget meeting regarding WSU.
Becky Butler joined at 9:06 a.m.
Commissioner Stamper discussed biomass. He said Bob
Guenther has contacted him about developing a biomass
industry.
Becky discussed the upcoming budget meetings.
The group discussed indigent defense program options compiled by Grays Harbor Commissioner Vickie
Raines.
Commissioner Jackson discussed the county’s process regarding marijuana applications.
Becky left at 9:23 a.m.
Commissioner Fund discussed the importance of the Chehalis Partnership.
Commissioner Fund discussed the Legislative Steering Committee (LSC). She said one county is suing
because WSDOT does not pay for noxious weeds. She discussed other lawsuits, such as jail medical, etc.,
involving other counties throughout the state.
Commissioner Fund asked if anyone would attend the 2018 County Leaders’ Conference scheduled for
Nov. 13-15 in Tacoma.
The group reviewed calendars.
Commissioner Stamper discussed the recent Timberland Regional Library meeting regarding the possible
closure of the Randle library.
Commissioner Jackson left at 9:47 a.m.
