Dianne Dorey and Marci Miess said the Assessor’s Office has been renting a car to accommodate its
needs.
Tim Murphy said rental fees would be higher than allowing the Assessor’s Office to purchase a seventh
vehicle for its fleet. Tim said the office is scheduled for a new Escape for 2019 and the plan is to give
them an Impala with 90,000 miles to help the office get by for a year.
Dianne said new construction totals will add $219,000 – on top of the 1 percent – to current expense.
She said there were 600 new permits as of June 15, compared to 143 in that same time period the
previous year. Dianne said the new employee approved the previous year has helped.
Dianne said reval notices will go out in a few weeks.
Dianne discussed the limited amount of property tax that will be collected from the proposed wind
farm. She said the equipment will be considered personal property and will have a 20-year depreciation.
Becky said there likely would be one-time revenue from the project.
Dianne said state-assessed utilities are up 5 percent.
Dianne said a grocery distribution center that’s planned in Centralia likely will help in 2019.
Meeting adjourned at 4:59 p.m.
