Bill Teitzel discussed a proclamation declaring October 22-26,
2018 as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week.
Steve Walton discussed a resolution to award a contract for
engineering and architectural services for the Chehalis Radio
Site. He said the project involves moving a radio tower.
Tim Fife discussed a resolution Approving an
Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement between Lewis
County and the United States Geological Service (USGS). He
said the project involves gauges on river streams. Tim said County Roads has paid the full bill in years
past and that he feels the whole county should share in the expense. Lee Napier said it’s not currently
included in the expenses shared through the interlocals for the Early Warning System.
Bill Wamsley discussed a hearing for Ordinance 1295, levying a property assessment tax in 2018 for
collection in 2019.
Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move one presentation item, two consent items, two
deliberation items and one hearing to the Monday BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Fund seconded the motion.
Motion passed 2-0.
Roundtable
Wayne Whiton invited the group to participate in the Great Shakeout on Oct. 18.
Lee Napier said Voluntary Stewardship planning will be discussed during the Conservation District’s
meeting Oct. 20. She said the Conservation District is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
Tim Fife said the Chamber Way overpass will begin a 60-hour closure later in the day.
Bill Teitzel said the shelter is housing the 17 dogs that were seized in Mossyrock.

Janelle Lindsey said anyone who hasn’t completed cybersecurity training will be locked out of their email
accounts effective Oct. 26.
Becky Butler urged the group to submit their updated unfunded mandate lists.
Steve Walton said a meeting regarding the cold weather shelter is planned for later in the day.
Archie Smith said he will get clarification on the Family Leave Act during an upcoming meeting.
Wayne and Steve Mansfield discussed an emergency preparedness document being tailored to each of
the county’s buildings.
The group discussed the need for a coordinated effort regarding emergency preparedness.
Gary Fredricks said WSU has received five applications for the Master Gardener Coordinator position.
Commissioner Fund discussed her trip to Washington, D.C., the previous week. She noted that she met
with Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell and Vice President Mike Pence during the trip. She noted that she paid
for the trip herself.
