Matt said the EDA is awarding $300,000 for the EDC’s shark-tank style event. Matt said two potential developers recently visited Lewis County. Matt said the Port of Chehalis has begun work on its recently approved .09 project. Erik Martin said the Skookumchuck draft EIS is slated for publication on Oct. 30. Matt said he is continuing discussions about possibly revising the FEMA maps in Packwood. He said funding will be an issue. The group discussed hiring an outside attorney to help regarding the county’s Tacoma Power renegotiations and possibly asking Tacoma Power to help get Packwood out of the floodplain. Matt asked if the county could do something in Packwood similar to what it did with Vader water, in that the county would build the system and then hand it off to the water-sewer district. Commissioner Stamper and Commissioner Fund supported the idea. Matt lauded Winlock Mayor Bradshaw’s efforts to extend water and sewer services to Interstate 5. Matt said he has reached out to Vader regarding $20,000 in funding that’s available. Matt said he has contacted DOT about Rep. Orcutt’s concerns regarding the proposed roundabout interchange at Napavine. Matt said he understands the Public Facilities District plans to apply for $366,000 in .09 funding. Erik Martin said he and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office had reviewed the PFD construction agreement and that he would sign and send it on behalf of the county. Commissioner Jackson left at 2:45 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 2:47 p.m.
