2018-10-29 Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up October 29, 2018 9:04 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, County Manager Erik Martin, Budget Services Manager Becky Butler, Shad Hail (9:46) Guest: Alex Brown of The Chronicle and Susan DeLaire of the East County Journal Recorder: Rieva Lester and Rachel Hunt The commissioners noted that the decedent removal resolution would be presented Nov. 5. Becky Butler joined at 9:09 a.m. The commissioners said they would hold the Budget informational meeting on Nov. 19. The group discussed the joint letter for the State Route 504- US 12 feasibility study. Alex Brown asked Commissioner Stamper how the connection between the two highways would affect tourism. Commissioner Stamper said it would benefit Lewis County as well as Cowlitz County. Commissioner Stamper mentioned he hadn’t heard anything official yet regarding the LTAC committee. The Commissioners discussed Timberland Regional Library’s pay scale for employees. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Stamper discussed several of the proposed closure locations. Erik Martin stepped out of the meeting at 9:24 a.m. and re-entered at 9:31 a.m. Commissioner Fund announced an award presented to her for the Commissioners. The Commissioners discussed their calendars for the upcoming week, especially their meeting with Senator Braun happening later in the day. The group discussed agenda topics for the Mayors’ meeting happening later in the week. Erik Martin discussed a reoccurring scheduling conflict with the Mayors’ meeting. Commissioner Fund announced an attorney is holding informational meetings on how to make money off counties’ Public Records Act violations. Shad Hail joined the meeting at 9:46 a.m. Susan DeLaire left the meeting at 9:46 a.m. Meeting ended at 9:48 a.m.
