Rodney Reynolds said interest rates are increasing and that OPUS is giving a higher rate than LGIP. He
said Risk Management General Liability appears to have used $1 million. The group said it may have
been a labeling error.
County Manager Erik Martin joined at 3:43 p.m.
Suzette Smith reviewed payroll and other funds year to date. She said Elections has passed its
appropriated amount and that Vader Water, the Fair and IT are nearing their appropriation limits.
Larry Grove noted that the county saw a 72 percent voter turnout for the general election.
Becky said the jail has indicated it needs an additional $200,000 for overtime.
Suzette said payroll will go live April 1. Becky said the county will need to hire an IT program coordinator
for Munis in 2019 as Megan Sibbert and Dirk Haney return to their regular assignments.
Commissioner Jackson left at 3:58 p.m.
Larry said automatic voter registration and same-day voter registration will change future elections
staffing dramatically.
The group discussed paid postage. Larry said it’s not state mandated. Larry said 64 percent of the voters
used vote by mail in the most recent general election.
Larry discussed the purchase of equipment that would allow for faster vote reconciliation but that the
software licensing cost is roughly $10,000 annually.
