Becky Butler reviewed the final 2019 Levy Calculation from the Assessor.
She reviewed the budget adoption resolution as well as the CIP.
Becky said the noxious weed ordinance may need to be amended but that it apparently won’t require an
additional hearing.
Erik Martin joined at 10:20 a.m.
Becky said she has not yet seen final numbers from the Fair.
Erik said he would reach out to Steve Walton regarding Fair’s budget.
Commissioner Jackson left at 10:27 a.m.
Becky reviewed the 2018 year-end budget amendment. She said the jail has submitted a large request
and that Vader water has submitted a request.
Commissioner Jackson returned at 10:36 a.m.
Becky reviewed other budget amendments submitted, including amendments linked to indigent defense
and juror pay as well as amendments linked to pay outs.
The commissioners discussed possibly delaying until June or July 2019 approval for additional staffing at
the jail.
Not authorized to fill the positions until year-end is complete (roughly February).
Commissioner Jackson said he would meet with WSU later in the month regarding the county’s MOU
with WSU. The group discussed the savings that could be realized if the county cut its ties with WSU.
