2018-12-17 Update with County ManagerUpdate with County Manager December 17, 2018 11:08 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Lara McRea Guests: Commissioner-elect Stamper, Dr. Lindsey Pollock Recorder: Rieva Lester Erik Martin said several electeds and directors did not realize they were approaching or passing their 2018 budget limits. Erik said he spoke to Randy Mueller about the Port’s exploration regarding the R.E. Bennett and Cascade school sites. Erik said Central Services has finished its work on the PA’s office and has moved on to the BOCC’s office, the Star Complex and the old WSU meeting room. He said the Capital Facilities group continues meeting with the architect regarding space needs. He said one possibly being floated is to move Motor Pool to the Central Shop and house Community Development at the vacated site. Erik discussed concerns regarding a former WSU employee. Commissioner Jackson said Lewis County will receive roughly $12,000 back due to the county’s Memorandum of Understanding with WSU for the part-time director. The group discussed ongoing Public Works projects. Erik discussed Thurston County’s offer to possibly have Lewis County take over at least three water treatment facilities Thurston County owns and operates in Lewis County. Erik discussed the Flood Authority, including possibly of redistributing the duties regarding the fiscal agent, notetaking, etc. Erik discussed increased revenue for permits in 2018.
